At the End of the Day

Decided to tackle this short storyboard in grey tones. Any day is made worth while if you have something to come home to.

Theme of the day

Two different concepts exploring this lovely hue.

A piece of stillness

My work takes me down different paths but I notice a trend  happens, where there is a level of stillness and calm. Just a moment to reflect ...something that is easily overlooked in our daily lives.

Adrift

Sometimes the most ordinary things can be the greatest inspiration to my work. An evening walk in my neighborhood park proved this and helped create these few pieces.

Note ** I know the titles seem dreary its really actually a lovely park! lol **

My Kind of World

As an avid reader and lover of books all around, sometimes I wish  I could escape to a place like this.

Beyond the usual

Just some more photoshop fun. Put my own spin on a great film...somehow penguins seem like a great fit.

Landscape Speed Studies

Today I decided to work with a time constraint and thought I"d try my hand at painting 3 separate pieces simultaneously. Working to achieve a successful composition  without excess detail.

All three pieces are 16 x 20" Acrylic on Canvas 30 minute studies

Panda love

And on a colourful note and keeping with the animal theme for the day, here's another painting for CnC Toronto. A world with colour is never dull

To go where no bunny has gone before

So these next sketches are inspired by a student of mine,  who proceeded to tell me a story of how astronauts took bunnies to the moon.  The thought of that seemed cute to me and so here are some sketches pre-photoshop of what bunnies in space looked like to me.  You can always thank kids for thinking outside the box :)

Delving into Light

Light was something I always felt my art programs lacked focus in. Considering how it impacts work and the understanding of colour I'm finally getting around to exploring it in depth on my own.  Two quick studies both around an hour. ( One being work related , Should be a fun one to teach:) )
